"Motion" is looksmaxxing slang for any action you take to upgrade how you look. Someone says "put it into motion" and they mean start the grind: skincare, gym, haircut, posture, jaw. It's a vibe word, not science. There's no journal paper on "motion" because it's forum vocabulary, born on incel and looksmaxxing boards to sound like you're executing a plan instead of doomscrolling about your face.

The word does real work: it reframes appearance as a project with steps. That part isn't fake. Grooming, fitness, sleep, skin care, dressing for your body, fixing your hairline early, getting your teeth straightened, eating actual food. These move the needle and are backed by boring, solid evidence. "Motion" as a mindset of consistent low-key upgrades is fine. The trouble starts when the culture defines what counts as motion.
