Zygos is forum slang for your zygomatic bones, the two cheekbones that bridge from under your eyes to your ears. "High cheekbones" means that widest point sits up near the eyes instead of low by the jaw. That high shelf casts a shadow under it, which is the chiseled look people chase. It's bone position. Michael Cunningham's 1986 attractiveness studies found prominent cheekbones rated as appealing in women, tied loosely to youth and maturity cues.
