Bonesmashing
the looksmaxxing trend that just breaks your face
Grounded in the research on Wikipedia: Bonesmashing / Looksmaxxing (TikTok trend, 2023-2024)
the move
bonesmashing is an internet trend where people deliberately strike their own face, usually the jaw or cheekbones, with hard objects, betting that the bone will rebuild thicker and sharper. it blew up on tiktok and looksmaxxing forums around 2023-2024. let's be blunt up front: it does not work, it's dangerous, and you should never do it. this whole course is a teardown, not a tutorial.
the fake science
the pitch borrows Wolff's law (Julius Wolff, 1892): bone remodels in response to load. true for gradual stress like running. but Wolff's law describes adaptation to repeated low-grade force, not blunt trauma. there's zero peer-reviewed evidence that hitting your face reshapes it for the better. the trend took a real principle and twisted it into a justification for self-injury. no orthopedic surgeon endorses this.
