so what even is this?
Two measurements. Bizygomatic width is the distance between your cheekbones (the widest part of your face). Bigonial width is the distance between your jaw angles, lower down. The ratio is bigonial divided by bizygomatic. Lower number means your jaw is narrower than your cheekbones, so the face tapers to a point. Higher means jaw and cheeks run closer to the same width, a squarer, blockier look.
where does the number come from?
Both are old anthropometry landmarks, mapped for over a century in physical anthropology and forensics (Leslie Farkas built the modern craniofacial norms in the 70s-80s). The ratio itself isn't a clinical metric, it's a looksmaxxing/PSL invention layered on top. So the measurements are real and standardized. The idea that one specific ratio equals an attractive face is forum lore, not a published threshold.
