Kill the safe option
Start by banning the cozy take everyone reaches for: "Jesus was a great moral teacher, just not God." C.S. Lewis dropped this in BBC radio talks in 1942, later printed in Mere Christianity (1952), and his whole move is to slam that door. A man who said the things Jesus said about himself, Lewis argues, has forfeited the right to be filed under wise rabbi. Pick a real lane instead.
Confirm the claim
Check that Jesus actually claimed divine authority, because the whole thing hinges on it. He forgave sins (Mark 2), took the divine "I AM" name (John 8:58), accepted worship, said he'd judge the world. Lewis: if a regular man says that stuff, he's not on the level of a good teacher. He's "on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg." No claim, no trilemma.
